Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Serves Up VolleyPillooza & Golf at Eagle Falls Golf Course


Thirty beautiful models from all over the world converged on the Palm Springs, California area on May 18-20, 2007 at the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino and Eagle Falls Golf Course in Indio for the VolleyPillooza Golf Weekend.

Friday's events included a Volleyball Tournament with teams of models featured in Playboy, Maxim, FHM, Stuff, Supermodels Unlimited, and Hooters Magazine;
the National Bikini Pillow Fighting Championship poolside; a Pairings Party in the Terrace Lounge; and a "Meet The Models" Welcoming Party in the Velvet Lounge Nightclub..

On Saturday morning, 160 golfers took to the links in a Golf Scramble Tournament at the newly opened Eagle Falls Golf Course. That afternoon, Chef Freddy Reiger served over three hundred guest at the South Beach theme Pool Party and Award's ceremony. Reiger former head chef of Trump Casinos in Atlanta City recently joined Fantasy Springs and treated the guest to Cuban style cuisine featuring grilled lobster, scallops, shrimp, and beef.

On Saturday Night in the Velvet Lounge Nightclub, the Wrap Party was attended by top NFL players including Rookie Sensation Reggie Bush (USC's Heisman Trophy Winner) of the New Orleans Saints. The entire weekend was videotaped by Mandt Brothers Productions for ESPN and hosted by Donte Stallworth, all-pro wide receiver from the New England Patriots.

"It was non-stop action with beautiful models and world-class athletes all weekend long," said Linda Powers, Vice President of Marketing at Fantasy Springs. Tom Law, Director of Player Development for Fantasy Springs Resort Casino served as the Director of the Weekend. "I have done hundreds of event all over the world," said Roy Hahn, president of PlayerXT, "and I have never seen a more organized weekend. Everyone had the greatest time. Tom did such a fine job."

It was a media frenzy as the models arrived at Fantasy Springs. Cameras from every station in Coachella Valley were on hand as the models took warm-ups on the Volleyball Court. Andy Adler of of CBS2 was on property to prepare a segment on "Eye on The Desert." KESQ-ABC Sports Director was on hand to meet Donte Stallworth. Early in the morning, Cori and Kristen Veselka were guests of CBS2 Anchor Dan Ball. Nicole Hiller and Jamie Smithers were guests of Gino Lamont and the beautiful Elisabeth Cook, Today Hosts at KMIR-NBC. The Palm Springs' Desert Sun did a two page pictorial.

The Veselka Twins, Cori and Kristin (at right with Donte Stallworth) provided entertainment for the weekend performing at the Welcoming Party in the Velvet Lounge Nightclub on Friday Night, the Awards Pool Party on Saturday and the Rock Yard on Saturday night. The multi-talented twins from Wisconsin write their own song and do their own dance choreography. The are combination of pop, hip hop and country. Their special rendition of Red Neck Woman was a real treat.

The winning Volleyball Team consisted of Tara Rice, Jen Johnson, Julie and Shawnee Costello. The Hooter's Models Martha Gonzales, Jamie Smithers, Nicole Hiller and Aly Fronk finished second in Volleyball. It was a hard fought battle between Jacqueline Bishop and Julie Costello in the National Bikini Pillow Fighting Finals, but Julie (at left) won a tight two out of three matches to claim the title and the "Velvet Pillow Award." Other contestants were Wrenna Monet, second in swimsuit competition; Adena Cooke, third in swimsuit competition; Gina Trimbauch, fourth place in swimsuit competition; Keagan Quiring from Oregon; Jessica Phelps of San Diego; Chris Grund of Phoenix and Evina Luna of Palm Springs. In addition to ESPN, the event will appear on Dish Network's Water Channel. Also, segments of the event will appear on the syndicated television show Whacked Out Sports which airs on the weekends.

"You feel like you are in the heart of Las Vegas," said Malika Dudley, Miss Hawaii, winner of the swimsuit competition. Malika was "Miss Congeniality" in the 2006 Miss America Pageant, and served as the perfect host for the event. Malika handed out signed Miss America pictures to all the guests.
